Additional Driveway Space for Dorking Vicarage
We were asked to create additional parking and upgrade the garden at a house in Dorking that had limited space for visitors cars. Visitors had to either park far away or pay for parking and risk fines.
There were 2 parts to the driveway. A section out at the front of the gated property and a long section beind the gates leading to a garage and garden area. We started by taking up the existing tarmac at the front of the property and replaced it with Marshall Drive Line 50 Block Paving, to create the extra parking space. Ecogrid paving cells were filled with 20mm shingle for a free draining paving.
The front garden and driveway were bought together as one and a SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System) compliant drive way was created using Marshall Priora paving. This method allows water to soak into the special sub base rather than running onto the roads, ensuring it meets with local planning regulations. Due to a chalk base sub soil this was the ideal solution.
