A big garden design challenge for a river bank garden in Surrey
A client for who we had previously created a brand new cobble tech driveway asked us to return to design and construct a garden solution that helped make the most of a beautiful but hard to access part of their garden backing onto the River Mole.
Because of the steepness of this part of the garden, its shadiness and the difficulty of access for maintenance we had to come up with solution that addressed all these issues for our client. The answer was to create 4 terrace levels. Adding to the complexity was the fact that getting a 1.9 tonne digger into this part of the garden was quite difficult but we worked from the bottom up to achieve the results we needed.
In the very shaded areas where grass struggled to grow we used artificial turf and there are a number of beds that are ready to be planted at a later date.
